Atlanta Food Mart

Atlanta is a growing hub for all things awesome.

From films to food this place is quickly becoming the New York of the south.

In this post, we want to focus on the growing trend of Atlanta Food Marts!

To us, a food mart is a place with tons of places to eat, things to do, and all under one main location.

Top Atlanta Food Marts

The best thing about Atlanta food marts is that you can try tons of different things all in one easily accessible spot.

Therefore, we took the time to find the BEST food marts around Atlanta. Our line up is going to be:

  • Ponce City Market
  • Marietta Square Market
  • The Municipal Market
  • Krog Street Market

If you have never been to these four locations then clear your plans this weekend! Or… for the next couple of days because you are coming with us on a journey to try some of the best food in Atlanta!

Ponce City Market

Kicking off our list is going to be the thrilling, modern location of Ponce City Market.

Ponce City Market is located at: 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308

Unfortunately, parking is not generally free here so do keep that in mind, but there is plenty of parking!

This spot is not to far from downtown and is fairly easy to access, park, and enjoy! Ponce really has it all shops, restaurants, events, and even a rooftop bar!

That’s right you can do literally anything here. What we love about this location is the sleek modern look of everything. It truly is a work of art inside and out of this place.

You will probably need a couple of hours to see everything, so we suggest planning on being here 4 to 5 hours to get the full effect!

This location is open:

  • Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM
  • Sundays from 11 AM to 8 PM

In addition, we also mentioned that there are commonly events going on in this area or at the building rooftop! Make sure to checkout their website to stay up-to-date on everything to do at Ponce.

Marietta Square Market

Up next on our list is a place with tons of variety and culture called Marietta Square Market!

The Marietta Square Market is located at: 68 North Marietta Parkway NW, Marietta GA 30060

Parking at the market is not free unless you plan to stay less than 2 hours or park at the square and walk over! We suggest just paying to keep from limiting your time here!

The Marietta Market is actually right off the square, or in front of it depending how you are driving. This spot is great to hang out with friends, family, or simply just to try a lot of food!

Seriously, this place has tons of options like BBQ, Ramen, Crepes, Spanish food, Cajun food, and even lobster rolls!

We suggest people come here hungry and with a few hours to spare as you cruise around searching for what you want to try! If you bring friends or family, then let everyone order from a different place to try everything family style!

A nice feature about this place is that it has indoor, outdoor and bar seating for all to enjoy. Additionally, you can get your food and walk over to the square center and eat in the park if you are inclined to do so for a little date!

The market is open:

  • Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM – 9 PM
  • Friday & Saturday from 11 AM – 10 PM

We are sure you’ll love this location. Maybe save time to walk around the square and check out the awesome shops, events and food it also has to offer in Marietta!

The Municipal Market

Third on our list is a quaint location in downtown Atlanta that features awesome options for food on the go and local produce of all kinds called The Municipal Market!

The Municipal Market is located at: 209 Edgewood Ave SE Atlanta, GA 30303

Unfortunately, at this location there are not tons of parking spots around specifically available for the market. Most people park along the street or walk to this spot.

As we mentioned, this location is actually in the heart of down town not too far from the Georgia State campus area. It is a common spot for people who work around there to grab lunch and local residents or restaurants to purchase produce from.

We suggest checking this place out on a day you are already in Atlanta and want to visit a cool trendy spot to eat, walk around and enjoy!

This Municipal Market Atlanta is open:

  • Monday through Saturday from 8 AM – 6 PM

Make sure to come to this spot hungry or ready to bring home some fun things to cook from local growers and markets!

Krog Street Market

Last on our list is going to be a hip and loved spot for locals from all around the Atlanta area that you can definitely enjoy a good meal at called Krog Street Market!

This location is can be found at: 99 Krog Street Atlanta, Ga 30307

Again, parking at this location is not generally free. We would say expect to pay anywhere from $2-$5 for parking unless you can find a open spot on the street! The other option is always walking if you are close around the area.

Krog Market is really a place for southerners at heart. Tons of great food that is prepared in southern ways. We suggest taking a few friends and making a day trip out of visiting this location and local spots around this area. Its a great start to an “enjoy Atlanta” day were you get some fun food to share, beers and do a little bit of shopping along the way.

In addition, this place really shines on the the weekends so we suggest people go then to fully appreciate all this place has to offer!

Krog Street Market Atlanta is open:

  • Monday through Thursday from 7 AM – 9 PM
  • Friday from 7 AM – 10 PM
  • Saturday from 8 AM – 10 PM
  • Sunday from 8 AM – 9 PM

The last thing we are going to mention about this location is to check out all of the events and socials happening here before you go on their Facebook page! Chances are that there will be an event that you don’t want to miss!
